Must do visit, doing a tour I think is best way to see all the good thinks.

Brilliant views. Enjoyed a 4WD tour with Luke, who took us to all the good spots. Rather bumpy 4WD experience, but that was fun too. Enjoyed a snorkel, but he visabilty wasnt great due to the rain.

We went to big lagoon which really wasn’t a big deal. I guess you may need a boat to fully appreciate it but to me it looked like any other lagoon you could see anywhere in the world. Nice for a day trip to some fishing. Little Lagoon was great for young kids to have fun in the water. Need a four wheel drive vehicle and have it in four wheel drive. We didn’t lower our tyre pressure but if you do there are air pumps provided as you leave

Accessible, well managed National Park
Jun 2021
When we arrived at Francois Peron, the park had been closed for a couple of days because of rain - to protect the tracks especially around the gypsum clay pans.
We experienced some communication problems from park management regarding it re-opening but after lining up at the entrance 2 days in a row, we were let in. No complaints, it was just that no one was able to tell us when the park would re-open so we had to wait at the entrance.Rangers did their best to keep those in the queue informed about possible re-opening times.
The park is beautiful but there was a stampede for camping spots at Big Lagoon. Big vans and back packer rentals took off, speeding through the park but fortunately for us they turned off to Big Lagoon. We toured the entire park and all the accessible sites in our standard dual cab 4wd without any difficulty.
Herald Bight is (as the signs say!) very soft sand and you'd want to know what you're doing. We camped at Bottle Bay which was not crowded and had well maintained composting toilets.
This is a well managed and accessible wilderness experience. I expect that this trip would be about as demanding as most suburban 4wds ever experience. It's not hard and worth it if you're prepared and let your tyres down..
Thanks to the Rangers for the great management job they're doing in Francois Peron NP.

Monkey Mia Dolphins
Jun 2021
A bit disappointing with no dolphins around, so basically paying $15 to eat at the cafe. Hopefully others will have better luck.

Well worth it.

4WD is necessary as there are a few soft sand section. Well worth the trip out to the end. From the look outs we saw all manner of sea creatures, including Dugongs, sharks, Rays and turtles.
Big Lagoon is also well worth the drive, espaecially if you have access to kayaks or SUPs,
You get a good feel for Shark Bay.

Let down the tyres on your 4WD and go. Beautiful! Make sure you go into all of the spots plus explore the old station.

Easy 4WD
May 2021 • Couples
Headed from monkey Mia to Cape Peron . Easy access to the Park with tyre pressure stations located at the Peron homestead precinct . About 45 kms to the northern tip and wow what a view . We then popped into gregories before stopping at the Big Lagoon . Not much beach to sit on but a pretty stop and good for kayaking . Then we existed the park and onto the little lagoon... much nicer !

Went on a 4WD tour w/Shark Bay 4WD and it was outstanding. The NP has great spots for picnicing, snorkeling and viewing marine life from cliffs above. Loved it

Well worth a visit

You need a 4WD with high clearance to get to the top of the park which is well worth the effort. If you don't have a 4WD there is a Shearing Shed museum and other artefacts to see which are interesting.

Great 4WD Experience

Well worth a visit. Be sure to check out the lookout at Skipjack Point. We didn't go there, but friends saw dugongs, rays , sharks and turtles while we were at the Cape itself. Good fun driving on the sandy road!
