The oldest creatures on Earth
Apr 2021
Shark Bay is unique. The stromatolites at Hamelin Pool Marine Nature Reserve are three billion years old -- the oldest living creatures on Earth. The stromatolites are separated from the rest of Shark Bay by the Peron Peninsula, named after an early French explorer. The stromatolites are a casebook study in biological history. Hamelin Pool is 800 km (500 miles) by road north of Perth, the Western Australian state capital. I have been to Shark Bay several times, it is a beautiful unspoiled environment.

Great caravan park
May 2021 • Couples
No, it's not right on the beach but it's really quiet with very generous sites, huge camp kitchen, pool/BBQ area, camp fire area and updated ablution blocks (which are spotless) as well as 6-8 individual bathrooms with shower and toilet. Big thumbs up for owner Mick.

Amazing Experience
Dec 2020
I went to Shark Bay in December 2019 .

When I went to Shark Bay they was a lot of animals and we were even able to feed an touch the daulphins. They was a litle restaurant wery prety, the atmoshere was incredible and the beach was gigantic ... It is not very practical because there is no plane the only way is with car .

Worth the Drive
May 2020 • Friends
Amazing part of the world! Well worth the 8 hour drive from Perth. Despite it's isolated location, Shark Bay, like most coastal destinations is currently getting alot more intrastate visitors. Its such a shame that given the size of WA, Qantas hasn't added Denham and other hard to get to destinations to its regional route list. In the absence of international or even interstate travel opportunities, these smaller, regional holiday destinations are begging for additional services! Come on Qantas, surely you have the staff and the planes!

Take your time to explore this area
Nov 2020
This area has a lot to offer. Monkey Mia is, of course, beautiful and dolphins and dugongs (do a cruise!) are fascinating, but there is much more to the area than “just” the dolphins. Dirk Hartog island and Francois Peron National Park are absolutely worth a visit. Not only is the scenery beautiful, you will also see some very interesting critters such as crabs or thorny devils. Take some time to explore the area - you can easily spend a week or more there and find lots of things to keep you busy.

Family with 3 young children thoroughly enjoyed Aristocat II dugong wildlife cruise. Informative, friendly staff. Saw lots of dugong with calves. Dolphins and turtles. Highly recommend.

Great spot!
Oct 2020 • Couples
Visited at the end of school holidays so fairly quiet but imagine it gets very busy. Main Street along beach front fitted with a few shops but many empty premises too. Plenty of parking, fantastic play area for kids, lovely beach. Boat ramps and public toilets. Dog friendly in sections.
We stayed at Denham seaside caravan park at the end of the Main Street which was a great spot.
Lovely blue skies, windy for us, great sunsets!
