The views from both the ferry & "island" were lovely. We went with a school group of mixed age students - from 1st through 12th grade. We had a wonderful tour guide who kept all the children (& adults!) interested. The house was fascinating. I enjoyed seeing the kitchen as well as the (chinese?) translation of "Jesus Loves Me", (The... More

What a wonderful time spent with my 15-year-old son. The scenery was just beautiful this time a year. The leaves were at their peak.

Nice boat ride over. Not much to see, but nice to have visited the island. Nice walk. Make sure to show up for your departure time early.

Constitution Island played a significant role in the American Revolutionary War. George Washington put a chain across the Hudson River to prevent the British from sailing up to Albany. The chain was anchored on the west side at what is now West Point and anchored on the east side of the river by what is now called Constitution Island. Washington... More

My husband & I traveled to the Island with Ronnie Clark Coffey and a Colonel from West Point. We could not have been with two better people to give us the history of the Island from two perspectives - one military from the time of the Revolution and the other of the Warner family and their connection to West Point.... A very small place with great military history. We took a boat but I saw cars so if it is accessible by auto I would do that because our wait for the boat was long(1.5hrs). Beautiful views from redoubt 7.
