A large park with beautiful, heavy growth trails, plenty of areas for children, and mini-golf. Plenty of parking.

Pleasant place for off season walking and hiking. Nice kids playground. I would imagine its crowded in the summer with the huge pool on one end of the park. Also watch out for deer....yes deer in White Plains. One ran right in front of me at 6 am when I drove by there a few weeks ago. The huge parking lot is used for school bus parking for the City of White Plains, so you would want to watch out for lots of schools buses at certain times.

A few weeks ago, I was in Scarsdale visiting my son. The fall leaves were so spectacular that I thought it would be fun to take a walk on a trail and found this place on T.A. Now I have lived in Scarsdale and Greenwich for about 30 years but I had never known that you could take an easy hike in an area that had been right "under my nose" all those years! This is a spot that anyone of any age or ability can enjoy (free parking). It is not a great physical challenge (my son has his "secret places" for that) but it is easily enjoyed even if you only have 30 minutes to lose yourself in nature.

Driving on Mamaroneck Ave, south of the Hutchinson River Parkway, I spotted a sign and turned around and went to explore.

The locals here have a great woodland resource, with dedicated trails and a forest to traverse and investigate, where all you hear is..... s.i.l.e.n.c.e.... or the sound of happy, foraging & mating birds, and squirrels scurrying around doing their thing....

This is my "go-to" place for a one hour ramble. It's pretty, slightly hilly, convenient (just off the Hutch and Mamaroneck Ave.), and free! Once or twice a month, my wife and I come here (sometimes with our pug) for relaxation and exercize. It's dog-friendly and a great place to introduce kids to hiking. There's nothing exciting or dramatic about the trails, but you can't beat it especially in the spring and fall.

I prefer the entrance and trail that is about 1/2 mile south of the main/swimming pool entrance. Trail is relatively flat with some gradual inclines, so just about anybody can walk it.The trail gets a bit muddy in a number of places after rain. The full loop trail take. s about an hour. Ample parking in the main lot. Also lots of picnic tables

We stop by the mini golf once or twice a year as a "change of pace" for something to do. The area also has many restaurants and nightlife nearby.

The park offers many services and facilities. There's Hiking. Picnicking, Swimming, Mini Golf, Playground, etc. One could spend the whole day here and have a great time. There's Free Parking as well.

This is a nice place to do some easy few-mile hikes in the woods, just a short distance from NYC. There is little elevation so it's good for all levels. Be aware that the trails are not well-marked and the map on the website is virtually useless. If you don't know your way around, take note of where you're walking or use GPS. A highlight is ruins of an old stone bridge.

the turf on the field is a bit old and not soft at all. i would recommend against wearing cleats unless it is raining.
