If you're into nature this is the museum for you. It explains in full detail everything you would want to know about the Hudson River. Also very interesting is the Glenview Room, and the Planetarium, but otherwise this kind of museum is not for me.

In addition to their wonderful and exciting exhibits. The give the best fundraiser once a year. The staff is friendly. They do have a parking lot and a gift shop. During the school day they provide workshops for children.

A nice mixture of art, history, science. Great old mansion, newish planetarium, and both a good permanent Hudson River School collection and fun temporary shows.

I've been to this museum many times. The permanent collection is fine but the temporary exhibitions really shine. They are interesting and always well presented. Check out what is current at the museum. You won't be disappointed.
