Took this tour which included three houses and also the old courthouse , jail, apothecary and gardens. The guide we had was wonderful!! She knew so much about the history of all the buildings and the life styles of the people who lived there. There is also a great gift shop with locally mad items. There is a lot to see here for the very reasonable price.

If you love history or want to know the origins of Beaufort, NC’s third oldest town, this is a must visit. You’ll see authentic, restored, old buildings with artifacts, carefully decorated to reproduce the early days of this coastal town, when it was a fishing, boatbuilding and whaling centers. Well-informed guides and docents have fascinating information to share. Ask questions!

We did the House Tour, which included 3 historical homes, the apothecary, courthouse and the old jail. Our docent was wonderful and gracious, she took time to show us many things and answered our questions. It was just the two of us so we basically got a private tour! Please take note, this tour is not handicap friendly, you will have to climb narrow and uneven stairs if you want to see everything, but of course we expected this since the houses are so old! As long as you are healthy and mobile, I highly recommend this house tour (such beautiful antiques and furniture)!
