We stopped and picked up food for a picnic and went to the Price Park picnic area. It's a small area but beautiful area. The picnic area is on the edge of the babbling creek. Relaxing peaceful area to spend some time whether you're traveling down the Blue Ridge Parkway or if you're wanting to get outside of town and into nature.

Blowing Rock is a beautiful place to visit. Visibility was obstructed by drizzle and clouds but I’m sure the view is amazing on a clear day. Really enjoyed this quaint and friendly town. Stopped at the marketplace for a roast beef on an onion roll. Nice relaxing afternoon

We stopped here after a long day of driving and found the park nearly empty with many pretty spots to picnic. We ate beside a little creek and loved it. The next day we returned and hiked to Hebron Falls. The trail was super-muddy even though it had been a couple days since it had rained. But we like hiking anyway. The falls are not a big waterfall, but rather a couple small ones in one place. We didn't do the loop -- instead we just turned around after the falls and walked back the way we came. The trail was a bit confusing at one point. It was about 4 miles of mud, roots, and rocks -- but it was OK. We won't do that hike again since there are better ones around.

My husband, 17-year-old daughter, our 2 small dogs and I took this trail after a recommendation from an employee at the visitor center. While the hike was very peaceful and beautiful, it was also very muddy with lots of puddles which is expected after all the rain. Lots of boulders and roots to walk over. I would not say it was an easy hike based on the boulders and roots. It is easy to moderate in some areas especially after lots of rain. We enjoyed all the vegetation, interesting-looking mushrooms, trees and water. One thing that I would recommend is marking the trail better. It was challenging to know where to go after we reached the bridge and sadly, we didn't download the trail map nor did we have a paper map. We couldn't decide if we should continue after the bridge or just turn around to go back. So, after walking over the bridge back and forth, I began walking back the way we came. About 50 yards ahead on the trail, I noticed what I initially thought was a dog but after taking a few shorter steps I noted it was a BEAR cub, then another, and another, and another. They didn't notice me and I knew the mom could not be too far behind coming from the left (they were coming from the creek). I swiftly and quietly turned around while still looking and told my husband and daughter who were several yards away. My husband and I saw the mom come up from the left and turn to go down the trail following her cubs. Needless to say, we made a quick decision to continue on the trail on the other side of the bridge. What an adventure! In all our travels and hiking over the years in Banff, Jasper, Yoloho, Teton, Yellowstone and the mountains of NC and SC we have never come across a bear while hiking. We did report the siting after we returned to our vehicle so that park rangers would be aware. NO CELL PHONE SERVICE for the second half of our hike so we had to wait. Next time I'll bring bear spray. Lesson learned. ALWAYS be overprepared with more than you think you'll need.

We enjoyed several places in Julian Price Park, specifically the picnic grounds and the lakes. Even though the place was crowded we found an empty picnic table just across a snallow stream. The trail around the lake was beautiful with Catawba Rhododendrons lining the shore in full bloom. We saw flowers and flowering shrubs and lots of boats on the lake.

My daughter and I hiked the Boone Fork Trail on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Tons of people having picnics or playing in the water. Many people on the trail. Free entry right off the Parkway. Absolutely a wonderful time!

Always a great time at Price Park. Kids played in the creek while the adults enjoyed the cool mountain weather. The bathrooms were clean and it was easy to find a great spot to picnic.

Went on Easter arrived around 12pm. It was just starting to get busy but we were able to snag a picnic table by the creek. My better half is meticulous about cleaning. She never had to do anything because the concrete table and benches were super clean!
I am meticulous about my grill and it was the same! No residuals from the day before.
The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was that the bathrooms were not open (on a busy holiday weekend) and we had to use the portapotty, which is less than ideal (no toilet paper, kinda stinky).
We will definitely go back but hope the bathrooms are open!

My wife, our dog and I hiked the Boone Fork Trail in about 2 hours 45 minutes, the trail was well marked, moderate with ladders and stream crossings and the views were amazing!
