This house has remained mostly unchanged since 1860, and it's unreal how it has persevered through time! If you love history, and specifically civil war era, you shouldn't miss this tour. Our tour guide, Bob, was fantastic and informative and really made the experience memorable for us! Tours are mostly by appointment and info is easily found on website to get one scheduled. Expect to be at the house about an hour and a half and to be pleasantly surprised!!

The Allison-Deaver House is the oldest standing frame house in Western North Carolina. The house is part of the North Carolina Civil War Trails Program and is on the National Register of Historic Places. We wanted a tour of the house and although tours were supposed to be available on Saturdays from 1 to 4, there was absolutely no one around at 1. We walked around the house and grounds but still no one showed before we left.
