I am a bogey golfer and was visiting my brother in Greensboro. I came across this course and understood that there is a lot of history. This was on the PGA tour at one point. I played with another two some who wanted to play the blues (6900). I decided to give it a shot (wrong decision). Rather than playing... More

We were very impressed with the champions course. Everything was very well maintained. The course is NOT easy; it will challenge you on almost every hole. Expect elevation changes, water hazards, bunkers, sharp dog legs, and if you have an especially errant shot, you may well have an unplayable or lost ball due to trees, sharp drop-offs, or tall grasses.... The Championship course winds through Bryan Park and along the shore of Lake Townsend. A picturesque masterpiece of golf course design, it is in near perfect condition with lush fairways, fluffy white sand bunkers and smooth lightning fast firm greens. There is no gimmickry here, the course is fair but quite long. I played as a single behind foursomes and... More

The recent renovations performed on the course, due to the fairways being impacted by winter kill, have made this course absolutely AWESOME. The greens are rolling true, and fast...the fairways are in great shape, and the overall experience was so nice. We played the Sunday morning before going out to watch Tiger in the final round of the Wyndham Championship,... More

I played this course on Wednesday May 13, 2015 traveling on my way down to the Wells Fargo golf championship because I have always loved this course. I called a week prior to get a tee time and there was no mention by the staff that they had lost ALL of their fairways. When we asked about it, they gave... More

Played the Champions course in a Carolinas Golf Association one-day tournament. A great layout with lots of elevation change and tight fairways (generally bunkers on both sides). Very well maintained for a muni and well worth the price. I wish I lived closer, I would play it every week if I could. And the 19th hole was awesome too, great... More

Played the Champions course a couple of times and found it to be an excellent course, many scenic shots, with quick greens and strategic bunkers. It plays fairly long but offers challenges to any golfer, who selects the appropriate tees for their ability. Not sure who would play the course from the tips (at 7200 yards), but our group played... We played the Champions Course which encircles the Players Course and gives amazing views of the water. Seven of the holes end at or border the lake. Fees include a bucket of balls at the driving range, so make sure and take advantage of the opportunity to warm up before hitting the links. Our only objection (and this is more... More

I held a golf tournament here and had a good experience with them. My only complaint was that the staff was not as phone responsive as I would have like on the day of my event. However once I got there everything went smoothly and everyone seemed to have a great time.

We held our school proms here and I attended a few championship golf tournaments. The course is beautiful as well as the facilities.
