Overall good experience on the Great Smokey Mountain Train ride. My wife wanted to do the booze train ride and I'm glad we did. The scenery was a bit lacking until you got to the river as the kudzu has taken over everywhere else. The halfway break was good and enough time is allotted to do several things before having... We gave our family a Polar Express weekend for Christmas, rather than buying gifts and toys that would soon be broken or forgotten. Best decision ever!!! It was our first trip and we were in the back, since we booked late. I can't imagine that first class could have been a much better experience. It was awesome! Tickets for next... More

I organized a group of 20 people, both adults and children to ride the Polar Express on December 22nd, 2017. We were in the first class cabin. The train experience was quite enjoyable for both adults and children. Santa Clause was fabulous! He even said something personal to each child - my 11-year-old niece was shocked that he knew she... We took the day train ride that was a total of about four hours long. We passed a lot of beautiful scenery. It seems long but we never got bored and the kids had a lot of fun. We stopped at an outdoor adventures center and were able to explore a little.

The Polar Express needs to make some very much needed improvements. The train ride was a disappointment. This is geared for small kids and their imaginary world. Disney consultant can help them improve the quality of the experience.

We booked the Carolina Moonshine Experience. We were in a car that was Adults only. It was nicely furnished. We had plenty of room and good views. The seating allowed for people to visit and get to know one another. It was a couple of hours for the tour. Great scenery. We had lunch with dessert served to us. The... More

Enjoyed the entire trip on the Polar Express. Party of five, enjoyed the cocoa, cookie and Santa. Only negative: The music in the car was too loud! Would recommend to anyone, kids loved it.

not quite what I was expecting the scenery was somewhat boring, I was expecting mountains.... the layover in Dillsboro was a little disappointing also. If you love trains the Lionel Train Museum in town could be of interest

We took the family on the GSMR raft and rail package and it was excellent. The boys didn't care much for the site seeing on the way up but the rafting woke them up! We did this trip on 2015 and look forward to doing it again some time. It all starts at the depot in Bryson City, boarding the... More

Beautiful small town. The train depot has several hot dog/burgers places, a train museum, and a store for souvenirs. Everything is within walking distance to train depot. There are some nice restaurants very close. We ate at the Italian place and enjoyed it. (Only one in town) Train has a beautiful vintage look. The cars had numbered signs so that... More
