Browsing this emporium is so much fun. There is something scrumptious, beautiful, enticing anywhere the eye lands, that is, the best of the best to tickle every taste: Liquid things, including wine, beer, coffee and tea. Sweet things, including baked goods and candy land. Deli things, including fine charcuterie and a host of imported cheeses. Touchable/usable things, including cookware, home... More

This is a great store...it began back in the early 1970's as a coffee shop with its own roaster and has grown to a huge store with a bit of everything. It has mostly foodstuff, but it a wonderful array of items typically found in a kitchen store as well as flowers, dishes, linens, and much more. When people visit,... More

Can't stop but visit Southern Season on my trips to Chapel Hill, but last visit was especially disappointing. There were no cheese/ deli samples available, nor any product discounts - surprising considering shelf life of most products. However, never found any deals before - strange for a food store. Difficult to find sales help on the floor. For a high-end... More

This place has been fantastic for the last 10 years I have been eating and shopping here, but NO MORE! The new owners have ruined this place. The prices are still very high but the quality has gone WAY down. I used to love their grilled shrimp in the deli - but last visit they were half the size and... More

Great fried green tomatoes ever! Great chicken salad, spinach salad, and sweet potato fries. Service is fine. A little on the pricey side. But the food is good.

This was my second time to visit this store with my family. Whenever my wife and I visit my son and his wife, we always come here and stock up on items that we can't find where we come from. They have a wide variety of drinks, sauces, etc. items we have never found anywhere else. Their gift section is... More

What a neat place. Tons of gourmet and hard to find items. Lots of great gift ideas. Saw the cafe and the great looking menu. Ordered lunch, but was disappointed with my sandwich. The bread was too thick and very stale. Ended up taking the bread off. I guess on a different day it would have been much better. The... More

As I've said before, my husband works for Aveda Estée Lauder. One of the institutes is in Chapel Hill, allow us to get to know the town better. My first visit to Southern Season was one of complete elation. I couldn't believe that such a store, with EVERYTHING I could possibly want for kitchen and home , including prepared food,... More

Wonderful culinary store. Made me wish I had more room in my suitcase! Great variety of locally produced nuts and sauces, as well was housewares, wine and gifts. They also have a cafe

This is a very unique place, offering a huge variety of tens of thousands of local/regional artisan goods. Anything edible that you can imagine can be found from sauces to soda, salsa to cookies. There is a coffee/drink bar, a deli, prepared food area, candy/chocolates counter, nice wine and beer/cider selection, a wide diversity of kitchen goods, pots/pans/tools, local gifts,... More
