Glad I finally made it to this little museum, after living in the Charlotte area for 10 years. it is located near the Charlotte airport and is in a large hanger. It is several different kinds of aircraft, but the "centerpiece" is the US Airways plane that crashed in the Hudson. Very interesting to see the damage and learn about... More

He loves planes and history and this was a great day out for him. Enjoyable even if you are not into planes and such.

As a lifelong aviation enthusiast, I go out of my way to visit a lot of aviation history museums – from world-renowned institutions such as the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum or the Duxford (UK) Imperial War Museum, to obscure local displays scattered in airfields and barns in the US, Europe, and even in the Southern Hemisphere. ALL of... More

I have traveled through the airport a number of times, but due to time i was never able to visit the museum. On a recent trip to Florida (Driving) I actually left at 3 in the morning to ensure that I made it to the museum while it was still open. To make a long story short because of traffic... More

This was a visit of a life time to see the famous plane that Sully successfully landed in the Hudson River. The size of it massive and just to stand near yet and imagine the fear everyone must have felt. Sully is a true American hero for saving the lives of everyone on board. The people that tried to persecute... More

It was fascinating to see the Miracle on the Hudson airplane. A guide again explained the different aircraft.

I like aviation but mostly just like history and learning. We hosted a kids party at the old Carolinas Aviation Museum when it was in an older hanger and was good but not great. The addition of the Miracle on the Hudson plane really upped the ante for these guys and they clearly responded with a new space and well... More

Well done and interesting exhibits about flying, starting with the Wright Brothers. Several military planes are on display. The main attraction is the extensive exhibit about the "Miracle on the Hudson", complete with the actual US Airways Airbus plane that survived the landing in the Hudson River. Stories and items belonging to the crew, passengers, air traffic controller, and aircraft... More

There are plenty airplanes to explore and detailed exhibits. The Miracle on the Hudson exhibit is extensive with artifacts and a video presentation. It's fun to get inside a couple of the older planes as well.
