The trail meanders through river cane and picnic areas in this park. In the warm weather many families like to cool off wading in the creek. Fishermen also frequent these waters (you'll need a special fishing license to fish on the Cherokee Reservation).

A really fun place to stop on your way to the smoky mountains. Kids loved playing in the river and skipping stones

My grandsons and I love to fly-fish here in the Oconaluftee River. We almost got granny to come in and try it. We love it (even though we have not caught a fish yet).

We stopped here with grandchildren while visiting the area in early July. It was seasonally HOT and humid, which is normal for North Carolina! Finding this park in the center of Cherokee with a wonderful creek to wade in was a true treasure. Toddlers were...More

there is a bamboo tunnel on one side that is really cool. Many tables and BBQ stands to cook on. No open fires but good place for making a picnic.

Beautiful mountain streams running directly through, we had a picnic lunch and checked out the bamboo forest, it was a picture perfect day. Tons of local Native American shops along the strip.

A little gem of a park for everyone! Surprised to find it. Great for kids and adults. Creek offers fun cooling off and picnic tables offer spot to relax.

We picked up food from a local restaurant, so I'm not positive about if there are grills there. However, I just saw in "The Insiders Guide to the Great Smoky Mountains" that they do have grills in the park.
