We sat here for hours, watching the trout fishing and just the peace and quiet of the rushing waters. Ducks, fish and quiet right in the middle and center of Cherokee. While you are in town look for the painted bears throughout. There are I...More

This is a beautiful little park right in the middle of town. There are picnic areas and benches. You can get the kids out in the river. It is shallow in most parts and perfect for younger kids. Make sure to bring water shoes as...More

This park is beautifully placed smack dab in the middle of town! The river runs right though the middle of it and is perfect for wading, swimming or simply sunning or sitting under shade trees. The park was busy with a steady stream of locals...More

My family and I enjoyed a picnic lunch here while in the area and then allowed the kids to play in the river and the small bamboo forest. We saw numerous tubers in the river which was not deep at all (Oconaluftee means waist-deep) but...More

This is a nice little park where people can visit to just set and watch the duck and geese. Kids play in the water and people trout fish. The water is so clear here you can see the bottom almost all of the way across.

I look forward to wandering on the island every time I am in Cherokee. The connection with the water and the quiet and spiritual aspect of the bamboo grove is magical.

We were attending a five-day conference at Harrah's in Cherokee and took a morning break in the park. We had a great time with the very friendly resident ducks. It was great to just sit and watch the creek flow by. So refreshing...

If you are asking if there are RV spots to hook up and camp overnight, like a campground, the answer is no. It's not a campground. But like others have said, there are some parking lots very close that would accommodate a... More

We picked up food from a local restaurant, so I'm not positive about if there are grills there. However, I just saw in "The Insiders Guide to the Great Smoky Mountains" that they do have grills in the park.
