Our family just spent 3 days at the part and absolutely love it! We rented a cabin, which was very nice and made our stay very comfortable. We hiked several of the trails up to hanging rock and to some beautiful waterfalls and kayaked on the Dan River. The park was very clean and well-maintained. I can't believe we have... More

Loved this state park. We have hiked at 5 or so in NC so far, and this is my favorite. Waterfall and mountain views. Kid friendly. Picnic options. 3 year old and 11 year old did great.

The hanging rock state park is huge with tons of trails to follow along. the view from hanging rock is beautiful. The hike itself, is so much fun. We wish we had more time to do moore's knob, which is higher in elevation. The park keeps their facilities clean. The campsites are clean. Tory's Den and waterfall is short walk... More

So far I have hiked several trails here with my hiking group and this Park never ceases to amaze me. There are five waterfalls, a rock garden, a den (Tory's Den), a gigantic parking lot, and a wonderful nature center to behold. There are spectacular views on the Hanging Rock Trail, and Cook's Wall Trail. Those are the only trails... More

Very well maintained park. We took the kids for a picnic. The picnic areas have grills to cook on. There are several large covered picnic areas available. We took the trails to see the two waterfalls. There is access to get into the water. It is a mostly downhill trip to the waterfalls which means an uphill trip back. The... More

I hike here often. The park is well run. The staff & facilities are an example for others to follow. The diversity of this park means everyone can experience & enjoy the beauty of nature no matter what their abilities or interests.

Took a spontaneous solo trip to Hanging Rock to kill a few hours while my daughter had her interview and portfolio presentation for admission into UNCSA. Planned to do just a few of the easy trails but park ranger talked me into doing the hanging rock trail. Trail starts off paved, turns to gravel and then finishes with a scramble... More

An awesome place to go in the summer. I can't walk the trails because I'm on oxygen, but I love going up to see the different artist that hang their pictures in the info station. The farmers market they have started having every summer is great!!
