Overview
More
The doors opened on 16 August 2000, the 60th anniversary of the original Test Platoon’s first parachute jump. The museum offers free admission, a main exhibit gallery, temporary gallery, four-story tall theater, a gift shop, and a motion simulator ride that features two experiences. Admission is free, and we do accept donations in the gift shop and in donation boxes in the lobby. The main gallery is designed as a self-guided tour, in chronological order, through the history of airborne and special operations soldiers from 1940 to the present. The temporary gallery changes periodically and displays a myriad of exhibits pertaining to the United States Army airborne and special operations units through their history and conflicts from World War II to the present.

This is an amazing museum. It has a simulator. It is full of airborne and special operations history. The movies are very well done, too. We were fortunate to be there when a ceremony for a 5 tour Vietnam veteran was being honored.

I am impressed that this museum has all artifacts and uniforms to be displayed, including photos and maps. Really enjoyed visiting it. Spend at least two hours!

The museum is free, unless you want to do the simulator or see the movie. It’s off base and always very crowded. Parking was nearly impossible to come by. Large gift shop. Located Across the street from Veterans Park and adjacent to Market House.

I’m a French military and I really loved to see the history from the US point of view. A lot of reproductions, everything is very nicely made and conserved :) Loved it !

admission is always free, but the kind gesture is offering a donation to help keep it operating. The Virtual Movie is expensive tho...not worth it. Kinda lame!
