I was visiting family in the area and wanted to get outside with my dog. The trail was great and lots of smaller trails in the area to explore too.

This is a well-maintained, high-quality trail with many conveniences designed to create a safe, enjoyable outdoor recreational experience. (It is well-travelled, but isolated, so I don't recommend solo trips here.)The 5.5 mile paved trail is suitable for cyclists, runners, and walkers, and it has some...More

Nice and wide paved trail that follows along the river in places. We parked at one of the trailhead spots with ample parking, porta-john and poop bags for the dogs.

My son and I enjoy taking this walk, which is four miles one way with paved and wooded trails complete with bridges over the cape fear river. There are always other people on the trail running, walking and biking as well as a park ranger....More

Nice trail with lush greenery all around, a bit disappointing to not see the river while jogging though.

The trail was nice and paved. I was a little disappointed to not see the river at all from the trail, but the greenery was very nice. I started from the southern end.

This trail is perfect for a hike, run, walk, stroller. Beautiful and kept well! Choice for a short stroll with shading for the hot days or 10+ miles of walking and hiking if you’re up to it.

The expansion of this trail has added very nice options to see and to exit/enter. The only drawback would be the lack of water fountains along the route, but with prior planning, caring enough water is possible. Enjoy!

To get to the park, you go through a slightly sketchy neighborhood - but, don't let that discourage you. The park is safe, staffed, and has lots of space to provide walking, hiking, playing, or just hanging out.

From the soccer complex it is downhill... which means you have to come back uphill. If you are trying to do 8 miles... start at Clark park then do the return

Most state/city parks are open from dawn to dusk. That’s a general rule. There are no street lights along the trail, so I would imagine it would be pretty dark once the sun goes down.

Lots of dogs on the trail. Bags are available there. The dogs need to be on a leash.

Now that the trail has been extended on the Clark Park end, the one way distance is 5.5 miles. That makes a complete round trip 11 miles. However, the trail is marked at least every half so you can calculate the distance... More
