Google maps took us on a twisted "short cut" with many turns to get there, but there were interesting sights to enjoy on the way. We tried to get there early to get a full day of mining. Upon entering the office/gift shop, we were...More

$30 for unlimited dirt. Absolutely no instructions or demonstrations were given. We had no idea what we were looking for. The staff were a little rude but warmed up a bit by the time we were leaving. I'd probably never go gem mining again, but...More

One staff member was helpful, the owner sat around drunk and was rood. Found 3 carats for about 7 hours and paid lots of money to go home with nearly nothing.More

We are also disappointed that you didn't find much. Unfortunately as our signs say on the door and website that we don't guarantee you will find anything at all. That is the nature of mining. We don't salt and enrich the native area. We don't...More

Between 12 of us(7 adults, 2 teenagers and 3 kids) we didn't find any gemstones all day. Granted some of us were native miners but even having a worker check our sifter many times, nothing. One lady there did find a smaller Safire but they...More

Native mining can be hard. Since we don't guarantee even one stone ,most do if they work hard and dig a lot. You got to try different spots in the piles till you find a place. Last of all wash your dirt very well. There...More

We visited three mines in three days on our vacation. The gal that worked the sluice line on the day we were there was really helpful. She taught me a lot about identifying the gems in our screens. I found a very nice five carat...More

I told the employee please not to yell at the customers after that incident. she should of handled it better. I would be embarrassed too. I apologize for that. The reason the employee yelled was that the lady was washing native dirt which she hadn't...More

This was my second visit to the mine, and it did not disappoint. Between 3 of us, we were able to come away with 66 carats of sapphires... a few 5+! Rhonda was a great help. We will be back!
