We visiting Elijah Mountain while on vacation in Asheville. Mining gems was very relaxing and a nice change of pace. The drive was 30 minutes away from Asheville and very scenic.

My family and I visited the gem mine last weekend and it was so cool! My kids had wonderful time finding their jewels and I loved all of the crystals in the shop.

The staff was friendly and helpful as well as knowledgeable. My family of five had the best time. Definitely worth the money and they have an expansive amount of gems to buy and in all their buckets. Definitely look forward to going back.

This is a stocked mine with rocks and minerals from elsewhere. It’s the experience of digging and sifting that excites the kids when they find a treasure. Lots of fun.

Free mining is a drop down tab on the website. If you select that option, you will see a link to vacation cottages. If you stay there, you get some free mining.
