Driving along the Highway in North Carolina, we turned off for Childress Vineyards and found a delightful, Italian style vineyard, with perfect rows of vines, a good shop, possibilities of wine tasting and a very acceptable restaurant. Think they could have added a few more interesting wines to our tasting: we took the red. However, we bought the Victory cuvee... More

We did the red winetasting and had a nice time with son n daughter in law. Staff very accommodating, pots of the 8 different wines exactly 1/2 ounce, would have liked a bit more. Wine good, but expensive unless you are a member which is too expensive for out of town guests. Building and grounds decorated for Christmas and were... More

First time visiting and loved it! Can't wait to go back in the spring to enjoy the outside pavilion. Ate lunch in the Bistro, scenery was beautiful and the food was great. Took a tour and learned a lot, enjoyed seeing all the barrels and the private wine cellar, absolutely beautiful. Did the wine tasting where you get to sample... More

We went to the winery with some friends from Greensboro and really enjoyed the experience. The winery itself is very large with a Gift shop/tasting room, a Bistro, cellars, a reception room and an outdoor concert/seating area. The ground are beautiful and the main building is on par with anything you would find in California. It has to be one... More

Don't miss this one. Childress Vineyards is a beautiful spot. The grounds are gorgeous, particularly when the vines are covered with grapes; the facility is as striking as anything I've seen in California wine country; and the Bistro serves up some wonderful, wonderful food . . . from the margarita pizza to the pimento burger to the shrimp and grits.... Did a wine tasting not knowing what to expect. Wines were really good and the hostess was very informative. We returned later to try the Bistro at the winery and it did not disappoint. Really nice lunch and curtious staff. Highly recommend if your in the Lexington area.

Great place for lunch at the bistro, although hours are limited. Food was great, scenery beautiful! There is a large selection of wines and gifts in the shop, as well as wine tasting. I'd love to come back again!!

We visited RCV on a rainy day but the food in the Bistro was great and the tasting room has a huge selection of wines and souvenirs.
