I only did a half-day, sifted through 2 gem buckets. Found some interesting stones, but nothing exciting and, with no real flow to the trough, water got muddy/cloudy quickly. Watched some others panning for gold from soil sacks in neighboring troughs, just like the one...More

You wont find much more than the 1 gram nugget in each bag. I should have gone to the local stream and panned out paydirt for free. But, It was fun for beginners, not for the experienced panners.

Great little grill serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Family owned, simple fare and a joy! Easy to find, just south of downtown Marion off US Highway 221 South. Mine for gold, shop in their jewelry store and re-energize at the grill! Nice people!

Stopped in for the afternoon and panned for gold. Great little spot. Nice people, excellent food at the cafe. Spent the day panning through a bag of dirt and found a nice gold nugget! Great family activity!

We seen lots of animals when we went. This area is intertwined with a campground so this may be why we seen them.
