Fantastic Staff Loaded with information

We stopped in with a quick question, and came out very informed on the town and surroundings. Wonderful lady providing answers to anything you could imagine to ask, and then some.

We stopped in on a chilly, blustery day. The center has all the requisite maps and other materials, and you can even pick up a free tote bag (imprinted with local advertising). The friendly attendant on duty that day was perhaps too friendly. She couldn't (or wouldn't) stop talking and gesturing long enough for us to get in any questions... More

When visiting Mt. Airy you have to stop to take a picture if nothing else. Did not go into the museum.

The statue of Andy & Opie is NOT at the visitors' center but at the Andy Griffith museum. We did stop in the center and they were very friendly and helpful.

I only spent a few minutes at the visitor center but they pointed me in all the right directions of what to see and do in Mt. Airy.

This is the place you want to visit first when you arrive in Mount Airy. There are loads of pamphlets and magazines with information and places to see in the town and area. The folks working/volunteering there are very helpful with giving you a map of where to go and places to see.

Yvonne was very helpful for mapping out the area. She penciled our map on where to visit, what to do first. She had walking areas and driving areas mapped out as well.

Helpful maps and information delivered with down-home friendliness. Stop here first to get the low-down of what to see, from Andy Griffith sites to a free antebellum home tour, Mount Airy has much to offer. Street parking nearby is easy. Next door you can stop in at Barney's Cafe for a tasty meal or dessert.
