This may be what I enjoyed the most while in this town. A sign outside says tourist welcome. Don't just peek through the window. Go inside and talk to Bill if he is there, he is very interesting to talk with.

It’s only open on three days each week and only for three hours each day. It was nice to see the outside and take a peek in the window. It does remind you of Floyd’s from the TV show

Didn't go inside but peeked through the window to see a truly interesting old-time barbershop. History of Floyd's says Andy Griffith actually had his hair cut by a real Floyd the barber well before he became famous.

Go on in and sit a spell and have your picture taken in an original barbers chair - no charge but you can purchase a trinket that helps keep the shop running.

The owner took his time with every group that came in & he took pictures of each group in or around one of the barber chairs.

It is not very often that you meet someone as genuinely nice as Bill that runs the barbershop. His dad was the original “Floyd” and has now passed away. Bill does an excellent job of keeping him memory alive and ask for nothing in return....More
