Worth the drive to Murphy to walk along the river walk. We took our four dogs and enjoyed it very much. Swings are along the river. The river is a bit brown but it moves slowly along. A very nice recreation park was close to...More

Walked part of the walk, met numerous friendly walkers, both natives, halfbacks, and visitors like us. Some areas are paved, others wooden elevated paths or gravel paths. Interesting nature events abound. Some areas were flooded due to the excessive rains, however plenty of options to...More

There are multiple places to park and start this walk. Some of it is wooded and gravel, the other is paved. The best part of the walk, in my opinion is from the L&N Depot (walk behind the old station, sign visible between train cars)...More

Thank you Murphy for this beautiful Riverwalk through and out the parks down the river. And the fun of finding painted rocks.

This is my favorite place to be for the 4th of July!!! My grandkids love it! The fireworks were great. Food, Games, Bounce Houses and they even flew a plane over and dropped fresh peanuts. Lots of fun!

I guess we're spoiled by our river walk in downtown Greenville, SC. The river was dirty, bushes unkempt and benches and tables not well cared for. It said it was "Phase 1," so hopefully, it'll improve. Good place for walking dogs if you have them.

I walk my dog here all the time, he loves it. There's no telling what kind of critters you'll spot along the walk. This was the brainchild of our mayor's wife, Barbara Hughes, and more trails are in the process of being added.
