Skip this spot. Ridiculous $2/per person charge to walk to end of pier. The area by the pier is run down & not worth visiting even @ no charge.

Save your time & money by visiting a true treasure; Bodie Lighthouse which is spectacular views and area.

After working two days on repairing homes, we took a day to visit the beach. It was clean and friendly. To walk on the pier it is $2 per person. They have an aquarium and gift shop to visit for no cost. There is a bathroom with out door showers. To change clothes you have to do it in a bathroom stall. Other than a small changing room it was a nice place. They do have fishing off the pier for a cost.

Fresh air, sun, and a walk out across the ocean. My husband and adult son went out early one morning and had a great time fishing. No hassle with NC fishing licenses and packing rods and tackle in our car for our 600-mile trip to OBX: They purchased 1 day fishing passes ($14 each) and rented equipment at Jennette's. They had a great time, caught a few fish, and came back with a "fish story." Regular fishermen on the pier were friendly and helpful with tips. If you don't like fishing (me!), you can pay $2 to walk out on the pier and watch the fishermen and the ocean at your leisure. The pier house itself is free admission and is one of 4 NC Aquarium sites, with several large aquariums. There is information signage throughout the building and along the pier, educational and interesting. This is a historical attraction that is adaptable for people of all ages and interest levels.

The walk out to the end of the pier was invigorating. The pier itself is very strong built on concrete pilings.
Word to the wise, don’t go out on a windy day!

A lovely experience for $2 each walking on this long pier out into the Atlantic and reading about all the efforts to rebuild it after storms.

Much like most piers you have beautiful views from either side. Small entrance fee to just walk it. I got to see some dolphins swimming which was neat. The NC Aquarium has a couple displays of fish swimming around and a nice size gift shop. Worth cheching out at least once. Enjoy!

We walked on the pier twice during our vacation here. It was beautiful to walk out over the water, enjoyed the warm breezy evenings. Interesting to see what kind of fish people may be catching too. Our last evening we saw a lot of dolphins not far from the pier, saw a couple of them jump completely out of the water.
