Since 1992, the exhibit and its pirate specialty shop have been a favorite destination for families visiting Ocracoke Island. The exhibit features a life-like recreation of Blackbeard, a weapons display, old bottles, original art, a pirate flag display, ship models, and interactive activities. As visitors leave the exhibit, they enter a one of a kind pirate specialty shop. Kids of all ages will enjoy Teach’s Hole!

We were staying in Radanthe. I'm not sure I would take the 45 minute ferry ride over just to see this museum. It was interesting. And if you have good luck, you might be able to see the wild mustang herd a couple of miles...More

The Blackbeard Museum on Ocracoke was a fast, interesting attraction to visit. The owners have numerous artifacts and artistic depictions of Blackbeard / William Teach in numerous artistic media. The exhibit gives one a good idea of who Blackbeard was.

The museum is interesting and well-done. The staff is helpful in providing directions and recommendations about hotels, restaurants, and things to do. The lady working there that day even suggested having our picture taken in front of Blackbeard... with eye patches. And she let us...More

Don't miss this exhibit for a look into Blackbeard's world. Very educational. Stand beside a Blackbeard lifelike figure for a photo to share with friends.

Wife and I love history and always fascinated by local legends. We ended up spending a couple hours reading actual diaries, newspaper articles and government documents related to BlackBeard. Never aware of his prior service to England raiding French ships, how he ran his ship...More

Great exhibit if you are into that sort of thing. Has tons of information and artifacts about Blackbeard. I would like to see something like that about Ocracoke Island itself. Nice gift shop. Everyone should do this once but probably wouldn't be a repeat thing.
