Small, but filled with artifacts and info. Delightful old home turned into a museum. Period furniture, local history.

We stumbled across this gem after eating lunch at sMacNally's. It's full of Ocracoke history but the best part is that it won't take up a whole lot of your time. It's just a small place and I think we were there maybe 30min. We...More

Nice display of history on Ocracoke. Don’t miss this for the vintage objects and navy importance during the war. A few lovely quilts are also on display.

A sweet museum with beautiful exhibits about the island and the Outer Banks. The house itself is gorgeous with period rooms and something interesting for everyone.

It was interesting how much the preservation society has been able to pack in to this small museum. If you have any interest in history at all, and a few minutes to spare, it's certainly worth the time to pass through and check it out.

Interesting local museum that tells about the island's fishing heritage. There are many artifacts to see, newspaper articles over the years and personal letters. Right on the water.

The Preservation Museum guarantees a delightful and informative introduction to the people and history of Ocracoke Island. Antiques, exhibits and a good selection of books and gifts. Don't miss the recording of the 1990s documentary on the distinctive Ocracoke brogue. It's all housed in an...More
