Been to the island seven times and never went to the theater. Well shame on us. We went September 15 to see Molasses Creek perform and they performed to a sold out crowd! The performers were fiddler Dave,Gary and Kim and they are outstanding. The music is a mix of spiritual and folk with a few surprises added. We enjoyed... More

We enjoyed a wonderful evening at the theater watching the Mollasses Creek performance. They entertained the near capacity crowd with excellent music and story telling.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at the Deepwater Theater's presentation of the Ocrafolk Opry. It's an excellent value for two hours of great folk music, interesting stories and fun humour, all in an intimate, family-oriented setting. The performers were mainly from the local area, but our show also included a guest folk singer from Kentucky and another from... More

Ocrafolk Opry is a great evening for all ages! The night goes by fast - Lots of variety from singing to story telling to comedy. A great way to interact with the locals.

The Ocracoke Opry: terrific folk music, a radio show, pirate tales, humor, sing alongs and lively poetry made for an enjoyable experience. It was just short of two hours with an intermission. The theater is a small, rustic building with plastic lawn chairs in rows, but it has a lot of charm. Everyone who buys a ticket is entered in... More

Put on a great show during the pirate themed weekend. Interactive with the audience, especially the kids.

While taking a late October trip to the island for the second Annual Piratefest, we discovered the last show of the season at the Deepwater Theater. We shared a delightful evening with about 20 other guests enjoying a concert by Molasses Creek, a local, but well traveled, folk group. I felt like we were part of the "family". They were... More

Great music in a small theater which home to Molasses Creek, when they aren't touring. They can sing it all... blue grass, blues, country, broadway, ballads. We were there in October 2013 but there wasn't a selection that far back. Can't wait to hear them again this fall.

Excellent musical groups, wonderful story tellers, good price. No problems. Why this is not 50 characters is beyond me.

This small community theatre gets used A LOT. There are the weekly Opry and Molasses Creek theatre shows as well as some art classes. I believe the ghost tour even meets there in bad weather. The Opry was the only event we attended at the Deepwater Theater and it is well worth the price. The songs were varied and spirited... More
