We tried to visit the area but there was NO parking area available except for bikes. Unfortunately our rental house was on the back side of the island and too far for our 70s friends to walk to the Point. Hopefully some parking could be...More

Nice area to swim. Be sure to see Sam Jones buried next to his horse. Watch for snakes in the summer; mosquitoes not bad. Very nice stroll.

The walk out to the beach is nice with points of interest along the way. Make sure that you have bug spray though! It is well worth the walk! After you get out to the beach, the water is warm and calm. The beach isn't...More

Short walk through the woods to get to a fantastic little beach. We biked over, no parking on the street. Tons of hermit crabs over on the rocks. Very cool spot.

We spent our morning at the Point in our hammock we set up by the beach. At 7am there wasn't a single person on the beach. Just my husband and I. It was very romantic and charming. Beware of the mosquitos through the woods to...More

We have been to Ocracoke many times and always head to Springer's Point and walk the short trail to the beach. The history of Blackbeard comes alive here and the beauty of nature almost seems ironic given the history. I love the way the grasses...More

I stumbled upon this trail while walking. It's a great place to walk but secluded. I was a little anxious because there weren't too many people on the trail, it's narrow and sooooo quiet. On the way back, there was a banded water snake on...More

It's an easy hike through a beautiful wooded area that brings you to breezy Springer's Point! This is where Blackbeard the pirate entertained and held a big beach party before his demise. Beautiful live oaks, that appear to be centuries old, abound. Don't miss the...More

This place is a great walk to a calm beach. The path is safe and well marked with interesting information. It's a great place to see/catch hermit crabs.

Good walk through the preserve to the Pamlico Sound side. Not strenuous except for the heat. The walk portion along the beach gives you a chance to poke through the calm, warm water with much aquatic life to pick up (and put back gently).

We parked at the Assembly of God Church, just around the corner, thanks to my son who let us know about this possibility on a weekday. My older kids biked there. Of course, a donation will be sent to the church because... More
