This beach is one of the nicest on the east coast. Wide, nice sand, pretty dunes, no development. If you walk even a very short distance you can walk past the crowds and have space to yourself. One note is that the they allow vehicles...More

Great location one of my favorite beaches. There is a good ramp access and bathrooms. Always glad to be on a beach with a lifeguard.

This beach is gorgeous. I didn't have the luck of shell hunting that others did. I didn't see hardly any shells. However, this is a well kept beautiful beach! I hope to visit again.

Can you put up those 8 or 10 ft. canopies at Lifeguard Beach. a lot of places don't let you anymore. but if you want to stay all day, it is nice to put one up at the back of the beach to have a place to sit in the shade and watch the waves.

I stayed at Ocracoke Harbor Inn. The prices were decent. They have golf carts and bicycles for rent. The ladies that work the desk there are BEYOND fantastic!
