We came for Memorial Day weekend and got there early, so it wasn't that crowded yet. Thankfully. We took the Jamoekee(?) trail and it wasn't bad for the whole family. It was very beautiful and we were able to see such wonderful scenery as well...More

I won't go into the beautiful land of Pilot Mountain and the wonderful hiking trails, they all deserve a 5. Unfortunately the staff at the visitor center doesn't know much and was of very little help when planning our hiking trips. They have 2 maps,...More

I absolutely love coming here! It's so peaceful and relaxing. A perfect place to go whether you live near or far. Good to take family and/or your spouse and hike and have a picnic on the mountain. Would highly recommend

Absolutely beautiful! I'm slightly afraid of heights, so this marker on our trip to NC was a challenge at first. But the natural beauty it shows was enough temptation to bring me to the edge, literally. The view is one of a kind and even...More

Campsites are open year around. Although I did find out last winter that during inclement weather the affected state parks will close.

I do not know of any sites with hookups on the mountain in the park, but there is a campsite about 1/4 mile downhill from the gate with full hookups.
