The falls are stunning in winter with the snow and frozen landscape. The road up is well maintained, and it was not iced over. The stairs down were slippery, but it was doable. The Pisgah highway is a lovely drive up, and it is worth...More

We took all 10 of us ranging from 9 years old to 76 years old to this falls that is literally right off the side of the road. There is a viewing area right at road level, or there is a series of well built...More

We ve visited the Looking Glass Falls twice - once in Summer last year and once this fall (2017). This is one of the easiest roadside waterfalls to get to and a pretty one too. The waterfall is 60 ft high. When we visited last...More

Looking Glass Falls is beautiful! It’s very easy to access right beside the road. You can view it from the road or walk to the bottom to view it. Not very far out of town worth the drive!!!

Since we are not really hikers, and we did want to find waterfalls to photograph, this was a great find for us. Lots of roadside parking, and an observation deck in case you don't want to climb down the dozens of steps to the bottom...More

These are amazing to watch, 60 feet of waterfalls, and free and easy parking on the side of the road. No charge and a joy to watch for all family members.

Great 60 foot waterfall along US-276 about 9 miles from Brevard, NC. It's also close to Sliding Rock. In the fall the best time to visit is late morning to mid-afternoon to get the sun shining on the falls. Short walk to the overlook and...More

Just passing through and glad we came here. Such a beautiful place, wading through the water with the falls roaring away next to you. Just be careful walking towards the falls, the rocks are very slippy under foot and gets quite deep. A little too...More

Wow what a sight to enjoy even in the rain. We are staying in Bervard, NC close to our rental home. Easy to get too and not along hike.

I wouldn't recommend going at night. I think it's closed after a certain time. You could always find a nice stream or river off of a trail near the falls. As for the time of day, I'm not sure

Actually several picnic areas close by with picnic tables, but lots of folks just head down to the river at the falls and eat there, but here are NO tables there. It can be a zoo down there if it is a busy (e.g., Memorial... More
