A lot of the specialty shops are gone but a lot of new restaurants have opened. Parking can be a problem.

Check out this place in Raleigh. Great butcher, cheese shop, chocolate shop, and olive oil store. All in a quaint French style! Really quite nice. The place has ample parking and some nice outdoor seating areas.

I'd recommend the Renaissance as well. For a less expensive option, try one in Wake Forest. Only about 6- 9 miles away from Lafayette village. There is a Tuesday morning that you pass as well on Falls of Neuse near Wake... More
