Nuts about this spot. Raleigh is the "City of Oaks". Acorns come from oaks. Good photo op. Nuff said.

Yes, it drops out of the sky every new years, but I suppose because its so approachable, so close to the ground, when I see it in Moore Square it always gives me a little happy smile. Hometown pride (or adopted hometown, anyway) has to be part of it, but its quite a sight.

Not a must see, but a fond favorite of locals as it is our New Year's "ball drop". Now located in Plaza in front of Fletcher theater in Duke Power Memorial Auditorium at the bottom of Fayetteville Street

It was nice to see the tourist attraction but it just a Big Acorn in the park. The park wasn't as clean as I imaged it would be considering it's a big tourist attraction for the area. Although, the homeless didn't deter me from going to see the Acorn up close it probably will for some. I think if they... More

It was fun to see the famous acorn up close and in person. Not much to do but take your picture in front of it, but it's a fun stop.

Not sure how to review this, its a big metal acorn, located in a small park. The acorn is used on New Years Eve as the "acorn" drop, and spends its remaining time in the park. Its unique.

Small park near the public market. A nice little city green space. The park was hosting the kids art fest, so parking was scarce. The acorn is an interesting attraction, but is just visual. Read about the large number of homeless, but we didn't see any this morning.

The acorn is pretty nice but… Don't go by yourself. With all the homeless people it's a little intimidating. It is near all the nice restaurants and shops on the cobblestone streets. Wondering what the meaning of the acorn is.

The attraction was interesting, but severely overshadowed by the sheer number of homeless people using the park as a hotel.
