Arrived at Kaifeng on the fast train, took the Number 8 bus into town and did all the hotel stuff. Decided the Iron Pagoda Park would be first on the list. Our hotel was near the Drum Tower and the bus stops only have some...More

This was part of a full day of activities in the ancient city of Kaifeng. Unfortunately one of the best markets for souvenirs was closed.

This was a great find - a peaceful serene park with interesting architecture and historical sites. The highlight of course is the authentic Song Dynasty pagoda which overlooks the park but there are also a few nice trails and other temples. In particular, one houses...More

The tunnel staircase inside the tower is tiny, after about 15 minutes you make it to the top. The views are quite nice.

This is one of the oldest and the tallest of its kind. There are stairs inside to climb to the top. It is not an easy up and down climb due to the narrow size and darkness inside the pagoda, but it is worth a...More

Nice grounds. You can go up the tower when they are not cleaning it and it's covered in scaffold but it will cost extra. Not much to do, they have some carnival games where you can shoot a bow and arrow, or hand held cross...More
