The Iron Pagoda of Kaifeng is an extraordinary 55-metre high tower which has survived innumerable floods and earthquakes over the past millennium. It now has pride of place at the centre of a sprawling park at the northern end of Kaifeng's Old Town. This ancient skyscraper is one of the architectural marvels of Henan. We were also impressed by the... More

The Tower itself is quite spectacular and the grounds are okay. There is some good shopping at reasonable prices. Its an average site but still worth visiting. It is the only iron Pagoda in China.

This is one of the original oldest standing sites of the city, which is not modified or rebuilt. It's about 1,000 years old. I've climbed to the top. It's a feat but worth it.

It's one of the more impressive pagodas I've see.The park is nice, but it was raining and freezing outside when I went so my impression isn't that great.

It is a good combination of ancient monuments and artificial attractions. Like many other touristic spots in China, it is somewhat crowded. You can also take a boat in a lake.

The tiles had interesting patterns and color. The pagoda is leaning slightly - the leaning tower of the East. The setting for the tower is a well kept garden with a small pond. There were very few tourists when we visited, thus making this a very enjoyable. We did not climb the tower based on our guide's recommendation.

Nice ancient structure in a nice spacious park one can walk around. The tower has been there for centuries and even though it's called the Iron Tower, it is made from bricks that looked like iron. The patina is very beautiful with the wear and tear of age. I think visitors can go up to a couple of levels and... More

The Iron Pagoda Park (Tie Ta Gong Yuan) is just north of Henan University, the tower dominates the local area so you can see it from outside the park. Having said this, its well worth the 40RMB to enter the park and stroll around. Up close the Iron Tower is very striking and gave me the "oh wow, goose bump... More

A small Park with some interesting features. I believe it is favorite for local school trips. Got to see a martial arts demonstration from a local school. It was a treat.

The park is quite nice and the Song era Buddha statue in Jieyin Hall is very interesting, but the pagoda is stunning. Having seen countless pagodas over the last few years, this one definitely stands out. It is a wonderful tiled needle that has stood the test of time. The glazed tiles are very beautiful and if you climb it,... More
