Take a full day to visit the gardens and sites of the Tangerine Island (or Orange Island as it is also known). Access is easy by Metro and you can spend the day walking around the lakes and parks. Good clean family day out.

Definitely worth a visit. Very peaceful considering you are in a massive city. The statue of the big man is amazing.

There are many sculptures made from steel along to road to Mao statue, which is at the far end. Recommend to ride the mini train for time-saving which would cost around 20 Yuan. Walking is also great if you have some free time.

The great and stunning Mao statue!!! Fresh air but no orange seen in winter. Not only the statue but also many beautiful areas to spend time walking around.

On speaking to my wife she said that the Brazilian restaurant is in the grassed park area just past the administration building and a large restaurant inside. It is on the left hand side as you walk to the bathing area. I... More
