Overview
More
This wonderful garden was landscaped in a setting of great beauty on top of a cliff with breath-taking views over the sea, and it is a fine specimen of the spirit that animated the Noucentista movement in Catalonia - an early twentieth-century movement for intellectual and aesthetic renewal that found a distinguished spokesman in the writer Eugeni d'Ors. The Santa Clotilde gardens were designed in the manner of the dainty yet austere gardens of the Italian Renaissance by Nicolau Rubió i Tuduri at the age of twenty-eight, when he was still brimming over with admiration for his master in the art of landscape gardening, Forestier.

A lovely garden high on the headland overlooking the Med. It is well kept and was a cool place to spend a couple of hours. It would have been nice if we had taken a picnic.

A short walk from the city centre, about 15 minutes, beautiful gardens and views of the sea. Not extensive nor difficult, 5 euros entry fee. ..no coffee shop or drinks facilities so take water, and the toilets were clean.

Nice hour or so, well laid out, and very 'green' being established trees and bushes in the main. Some garden plants, and nice little spots to sit and watch the world, and good sea views every now and then too. Not wheelchair friendly in all...More

Highly recommend to visit Jardines de Santa Clotilde during your stay in Costa Brava. I was amazed by the view, flowers and sea. When we visited it, on a Sunday afternoon there were not so much people inside, felt comfortable. You can just sit down...More

Beautiful, simple gardens consisting of layers of topiary, terracing and formal landscaping opening up vistas to the sea. Recommended for a visit, and if you enjoy walking, walk the cliff footpath from Lloret de Mar, taking in Boadella beach on the way.

Visited the gardens whilst on holiday nearby. They are very well maintained and have some lovely views over the coast as well. Not really suitable for anyone with walking difficulties as there are quite a few steps between the different levels. No cafe.

Is it easy to walk there. Our hotel is 22 minutes away but I don't really want to walk if it a lot of uphill walking.

We stayed in royal beach hotel in lloret De Mar. We walked along the beachside then through a bit of forestry, it took about 20 mins to walk there and there were a few hills. Depending on what direction you are coming... More

Parts are, however there are lots of steps and as the gardens are terraced it may be difficult to get around it all and you would miss a great deal.
