Float down the warm springs with a pool noodle, get out walk back at the end and repeat, is absolutely amazing and well worth it- completely free. Bring a pool noodles, and an underwater camera or goggles to capture the true beauty!

Absolutely amazing place but very disappointed in the public toilets the smell was absolutely disgusting, so bad I was dry reaching and couldn't use them.

We stayed an extra day here just so we could go back to the springs the next day-we loved it. We stayed at the caravan park which (for $1) you can borrow a float noodle to help you drift down the stream-it is deep so...More

This is a wonderful spot, a lovely hot spring creek with warm crystal clear water. The scenery is awesome. You must hop in and float, swim the length of the creek get out and do it again, its simply addictive.

Such a warm peaceful swimming spot. Large enough not to be crowded. Unfortunately I didn't have a noodle, darn it.

Weren't sure which springs to go to so after consulting TA , headed off to Bitter Springs Thermal Pool from our Motel in Katherine. After purchasing a 'pool noodle' and some goggles we headed off to Mataranka, just over an hours drive. A short walk...More

Such a joy to swim in these natural waters in such a beautiful tropical setting. The water is crystal clear and the warm temperature gives you a relaxed and tranquil experience. A must do on your travels through this region.

Nice and relaxing. Bring a noodle or floating device for the kids as it is very deep. Large space so it doesn't seem crowded like the pool at the Mataranka homestead

The accessibility of swimming in this delightfully warm water is good and there were lots of people swimming down the river. Not many seats available for picnicking but we found a table with bench seats. Changing toilets nearby.

Yes, I think two days would be enough as there is not much to do. Depends on yourself if you just like to relax

For memory the car park was quite small but the Mataranka thermal pool had a much bigger car park which would fit caravans there is plenty of room there. That is any abou 7klms down the road.

Not that I'm aware, the water exit, where the warm water comes out of the ground is too small
