Close to Tanunda and rich in history. Well organized and friendly staff that enjoyed pointing out the history of the Chateau and the area. Relaxed wine tasting with great wines available.

Dear Bartonbears, Thanks for visiting and sharing your experience. While the Historical Tour offers a look into the winery area, the focus of the tour is on our magnificent 128 years of history and the Chateau itself. Also, the winery is a busy working area...More

Unfortunately it was closed when we visited due to the extreme heat, but if you’re into beautiful architecture, then you should visit a little bit of France in the Barossa. It’s apparently the largest chateau in Australia.More

Hi Didge432, Thanks for visiting and sharing your review. The cellar door wouldn't have been closed due to the heat, as it is basically underground and keeps a relatively accommodating temperature year round. Maybe just missed us in the normal opening hours of 10am-5pm, or...More

It’s a wow as you enter the grounds! The extensive buildings have been restored and well done to the family for preserving the heritage. The landscaping must’ve cost a fortune as well - it’s very well done. Green, lush, designed to be welcoming and yet...More
