I have bought Rockfords for years however never visited. But the winery blew me away, it is beautiful and everything was done to perfection. Next point the wines, I do not believe Rockford know how to make a bad wine, everyone is brilliant. I loved Rockford wines.

Visited at the perfect time to snap up some of their limited run basket press. Definitely worth a stop just for the basket press, but their other wines are stunning too. We were really surprised to see some of the wine making process, it seemed quite manual - adding to the charm of this winery being so quaint and handcrafted

Had a wine tasting experience here . The reds were out of the world. Had a very good port. The original buildings just amazed me. Could see the process of wine making on that day. Very unique place. A must do if you visit the Barossa valley. Consider it the best place to visit if you do not have much... More

This is a small winery with original buildings. Apart from being able to see fermentation taking place in the open and have the process explained to us the cellar was a real tasting room. Small and crowded. Premium wines and ended up spending over $500 on the best wines tasted after five days. Market stalls and a soloust made for... More

well we arrived on the right day as some shiraz grapes were being delivered by an old truck, juice dripping out of the back tray. we watched as the boys unloaded the grapes and had the stalks spat out all cleaned of fruit. we'd been 3 other times and this was a first for us and great to show the... Friendly staff that were very keen to welcome people to the winery. Smaller scale winery that was proud of what they do and have achieved. Vintage on right now, so busy everywhere and you wake to the smell of wine all around town. Great tasting area, magnificent old buildings make a cosy setting not over run with tour buses and... We were visiting with interstate visitors and chose a fantatstic time to visit. Handpicked grapes were being trucked in and forked into the crusher, the steam engine was pounding and grapes were being crushed as we watched. The Rockford winery uses traditional techniques and machinery and we saw much of it in operation. And, the wine. We have been driking... More

I first came across Rockford wines in the late 1980's and they have been exceeding expectations since then. Although the cellar door is small, and can get very crowded, the secret is to get there early so you have time and space to enjoy both the wines and the setting. Walk through the courtyard and see the basket presses and... More
