The newly remodeled Mid Pines golf course is my favorite of all courses in the Sandhills. It is quintessential Donald Ross Don't let the yardage fool you , it's plenty long for almost any golfer The small greens with devilish breaks are a test for all I've played the course 100 of times and it's still a new challenge every... I have played Mid Pines many times and find it difficult, with challenging greens and needing careful placement both off the tee and on the greens. Having said that, it remains my favorite Donald Ross course in the Sandhills. Pick your tee carefully. A good score will have to be earned. Enjoy the beauty and have fun.

We had our Thanksgiving dinner at brunch at the Mid Pines gold club lodge restaurant. The service was superb, teh selections extensive and well prepared adn there is a quiet elegance in the dining area. There was fresh egg nog (non alcholic) and spiced hot apple cider at the entrance when you arrive. Reservations were a must and we were... More

We started with their breakfast buffet. It has the normal resort hotel spread with an omelet station. There chef was quick and did a good presentation. They have fresh smoked salmon (not greasy). The bagel is typical Carolinian. Do not expect a New York bagel. The pastries looked appetizing, even though I didn't partake. They had a food assortment of... More

This was a great course. Just long enough to provide a real challenge and those quick greens were tough to hold but nothing like Pinehurst #2. The steak sandwich is good at the restaurant, but I wouldn't stay at, dine in, or generally hang out at Mid-Pines. The golf is the spectacular, but that is about it.

A Donald Ross design just like #2 down the road. Lovely vista on all the holes and challenging long par 3 holes. A real treat this course. Good greens and you always have a shot

Played my first round on March 16th at Mid Pines with 3 business associates. It was a good challenging course that I enjoyed. Donald Ross course that has been renovated with rough much like Pinehurst #2! But reasonably priced at $125. Greens were Bermuda, indulating but disappointingly slow. Starters, attendants and golf shop personnel were helpful and friendly. Good driving... More

Played here last week with my son. It was our 5/6 trip to Pinehurst and we always play at the Pinehurst Resort(which we also did) or at Tobacco Road(which we did not). We wanted to play some new courses in addition to the revised #2 so we selected Dormie(don't) and Mid-Pines and Pine Needles. Mid Pines was a preview of... More

Ate here twice - once in Fall and once around Christmas. Seriously disappointing. Ingredients are good quality, wine list average and service is friendly, but food is always barely luke warm, wrong items delivered to table, and around holiday chaos reigns - more like a bargain airline flight than a fine dining experience
