We rented an oceanfront property through a private owner for a week. The beach was clean and quiet. The water was perfect for children. The town itself is just ok with not a ton to do. The locals in businesses were not super warm or...More

We love Topsail Island. It's the perfect beach vacation for a family. We have one teen and one younger child and there is still enough to do to entertain them both. Wilmington is a short drive away as well. The beaches are gorgeous and never...More

It was really quiet and much less busy than other beaches, so it's easy to score a great spot on the beach. Mid August turned out to be great for us, with lower rates and more condo openings, as well as great weather and warm...More

I love Topsail Island. It's quiet and the locals are friendly. The beach is never overcrowded and I don't feel like I'm auditioning for an MTV special. If you want to relax this is the place for you.

Many places to get to the beach through Public Access. Be ready for humidity, but the beach is wonderful.

Quiet, friendly, great beaches. Sound to shore one of best places to chill. Love the turtle hospital and pier.

I have vacationed on Topsail Island for three summers: once at the estreme Northern Tip, once close to Surf City and lately at Serenity Point, at the Southernmost tip. The beach at Serenity Point is without doubts the best, less crowded and with a choice...More

What a great area to escape the daily rat-race of work. Magnificent views and serenity. One day on the beach of white sand and surf will last for a while. Even when returning home, we were still relaxed. Enjoy!

My family rented a house in the lower part of the island. Very satisfied with the accommodations with a nautical motif which fit the location perfectly. We were one block from the inter coastal bay and two blocks from the ocean. Ideal location. The only...More

There are some waves and they are definitely better for younger kids--- think of Myrtle Beach type waves BUT smaller with a much more relaxing and way better maintained Beach Front Space, sand, and way less of a crowd... More

Yes. One is indeed around the middle of the island. It's smaller but on the same side of 210 as the beach. Another is just a few miles south of the north bridge near Sneed's Ferry. It's larger, features some trees, and has... More

Daddy Mac's if you can get in. Most romantic? Go to Thomas seafood and produce buy some mussels (frozen) and make some linguine with mussels in wine sauce and eat on your deck watching the sunset
