This is the second time I have stopped here. There are nice churches to shoot, a barn or two and lots of rusted farm machinery and a few vintage cars. Best time to shoot is early morning or late in the day.

Went camping with family and friends. Good amenities, great sites and friendly staff. Only reservation is the water when swimming in the dammed lake; it can be a little green and less than ideal. Rinse after swimming to get ahead of any rashes.

Camped at last minute to enjoy the last warm weekend. Helpful staff. Most sites are large with some privacy especially on the water. Plenty of space for our 25-ft travel trailer. Bummer that water was already turned off, but we had a full holding tank. Trails are easy, grassy surface, with some mosquitos and 1 deer tick on my shoe.

Beautiful campground with clean, hot showers and helpful staff. Hikes of varying distances. Fairly accessible. Geocaches. Interesting museum.

We stopped here just for a short time. There is a museum of sorts that has several displays showcasing the history of the area. Since my family settled in the area over 130 years ago, I found it very interesting. There was a lot of hands on things for kids to touch such as furs of different animals. There are... More

We stayed at the Icelandic State Park from May 16 - May 19 2014 and had a blast. This was the first stay at the park and we look forward to making this an annual trip every May long weekend!! The site we had was very spacious and clean. The golfing at the local golf course was inexpensive and quite... More

Did a short mid-week trip to this State Park in ND. All camping sites are pull-through with water and electric, no sewer. Beautiful wooded sites, well planned and separated by woods. Nearby is the Gunlogson Arboretum with several beautiful nature trails. On Lake Renwick (Renwick Dam), so were lulled to sleep by geese settling into their nighttime resting spots. Only... More

The Park Manager was very friendly and engaging as he gave an off the cuff history lesson and answered many questions. He was extremely knowledgable and he strongly showed how much he enjoys the work at this park and his pride.

The birding was excellent! We saw quite a few warblers and vireos, including Mourning Warblers. It's a pretty park with great habitat.

Icelandic state park has lots to offer including the beach/picnic area and the lake for boating. There is a 9 hole golf course across the lake. There are over 150 camping spots and a concession at the beach. The Gunlogson arboretum has beautiful hiking trails that are groomed in the winter for cross country skiing.
