Varna Monastery "St. St. Konstantin and Elena" is located in the resort "St. Constantine and Helena" - few kilometers north of Varna. It is suggested the monastery was founded in the beginning of XVIII century, although there is evidence for the existence of a monastery in these lands in XIV century.

Varna Monastery is unique with its ayazmo (a holy spring), which is located in the altar of the church - behind the throne. There is no record of another church in Europe, whose spring is at such place.

Among the most valuable shrines of the monastery "St. St. Konstantin and Elena" near Varna are: an Icon of St. Constantine and Elena, a particle of the relics of St.Valentine, an Icon of the seven youths of Ephesus - Maximilian, Yamvlih, Martini, John, Dionysius, Eksakustodian (Constantine) and Antoninus, who lived in the III century.

Very small but interesting chapel and courtyard.
Nice Chapel and free to enter - donations can be made.
Signs about decent clothing were respectful but not enforced.
Cute little shop for religious artefacts

Well worth popping your head in when passing

And there goes the list of what is not allowed pass the entry way! No shorts, no tee shirts, no cameras, women must have head covered, etc. Hmmm....except it's right smack in the middle of a resort area!!! And I mean right smack in the middle! So no wonder people just walk on by! After all you're there with your flip flops & shorts so do you really need to go change to see it??? Of course not!

Not that interesting, we were only there for 10 minutes tops.
Lots of advertising around for this, nothing to see.

Tourist area with traditional souvenir shops. It's near the sea. Ok good place to visit but not so impressive.

You will discover the peace here. It is a small but good place to pray. Women should have their head covered.

This is a must see in your life time. It is a small and coquette monastery in the middle of the small city of Saints Konstantine and Helena.
