MacKay whale watching is to be experienced to really appreciate it. I cannot describe how great the day was. The group met promptly at 9:30 and we were underway on time at 10:00. MacKay's has only one trip per day, which allows maximum time if...More

We are staying in Comox on a house exchange (recommend this as a great way to visit other countries), our hosts recommended this operator - so glad they did, it was FAB! Unknown to us, we managed to squeak in on the last but one...More

it´s not only the huge number of orcas i saw on this day, resident`s and biggs, humpbacks, seals, and on the end a mother blackbear with two cubs. It is more, it is Bill, the very sympathic captain and marieke who knows everything about all...More

You need to book in advance, (at least the day before) as Donna, the owner with husband Bill (Captain) orders the soup, rolls and cakes for lunch so she needs to know numbers. We met at the office 10 mins before departure, we were welcomed...More

We went out for a trip of over 4 hours with Bill on his purpose built whale watching boat. Although the mid-August morning was typically misty the sea was calm and we had dressed warm. After what seemed only a few minutes we had our...More

It is expensive, yes, but we saw Orcas, humpback whales many times, quite near, also some bears at the cost. Nice trip, more than four hours, the captain and his daughter are awesome. Good food too.

With forest fires raging in the rest of the province, we decided to stay on-Island and spend our two weeks camping holiday re-visiting northern parts. After researching the myriad of whale-watching companies, we were drawn to Mackay's (not just for the cool-looking, purpose-built boat!). Disappointingly,...More
