For over 15 years, Tide Rip has been leading daily boat-based expeditions to view and photograph the wild grizzly bears and other spectacular wildlife native to coastal British Columbia. We booked our tour months in advance. Our B&B was Hidden Cove Lodge, which is not in Telegraph cove, but they pickes up up by boat anyway. Our skipper was John and our naturalist was James. I hereby thank them both, because they made our day. They were very professional and passionate about nature and wildlife, but also very good... More

A truly wonderful day, with wonderful staff! We were lucky enough to see about ten bears, one mother and her triplet cubs who passed right by our little boat! An absolutely amazing day!

As the weather was sunny and warm, we had a very enjoyable boat trip. We were collected from the jetty at Hidden Cove Lodge around 7:00 am and returned back to the Lodge late afternoon. We boated across the Johnstone Strait and into Knight Inlet, finally docking in Glendale Cove. The two guides were very pleasant, chatty, had many stories... More

My sister in law and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The guides gave us lots of opportunities to watch the humpback whales and the dolphins on our way to Knight inlet, then didn't rush us at all when we encountered the grizzlies - 8 in all. The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable and even good chefs! The weather even... More

Was to be the highlight of the trip, but wild animals being wild animals the bears did not co-operate. Although the guides tried their hardest we did not come across bears. Lots of other wildlife was spotted but stings a bit with what you pay for the day.

The guides gave us 110% effort to make sure we got up as close as possible to see bears without disturbing them. We saw whales & dolphins enroute to bear site & the guides made sure we had plenty of photo ops! Everything was well done - guides were enthusiastic & knowledgable - it was a fun, safe trip -... This has been the most exciting day trip I've ever made. You go into Grizzly Bear territory by shallow draft boat pushed by the guys upstream the river and experience a couple of hours close to them. It seems they don't even notice you. We saw at least 9 bears and heard some more moving behind the bushes. On the... More

Wonderful day with two delightful naturalists who explained everything to us in a very presentable way. We saw grizzlies, dolphins, humpback whales and numerous birds. It was a great day and an enjoyable experience

We saw so many bears in their natural environment. We have to reschedule due to weather and once more for logistics, but it was more than worth it. The guides really knew their stuff and they were informative, patient and aware of all things in the environment. The tour itself was smooth and well organized.

I was booked on the 26th September for the Grizzly bear viewing trip and was picked up from the dock at Hidden Cove Lodge where we were staying at 7.50am . Theresa and Kyle were our guides for the day , the first half hour was a bit rough but once we got amongst the Islands it was fine .... More
