A unique stop with great views. You actually drive though a horse pasture to get to the Dungeon. One horse came right up to our window to peak in.

My wife and my sister explored this area; the views of the caverns is quite stunning. 5 stars would be given, except for the dirt road and the locals who seem to want to ride their ATV’s at excessive speed.

Do not feed the horses and cattle on the Bonavista Pasture ! This is the community pasture , not a petting zoo. We , livestock owners do not want to contend with sick animals and an emergency vet. visit

We were really glad we fitted in the visit the the park. The two caves became two arches when the tops collapsed.

Spectacular cliff and ocean views and stunning landscape. Some horses at the entering road invite children to stop and pet them. Overall a nice in-between-stop, however, not the half-day activity I was hoping to find.

The park is just a short drive away from Cape Bonavista and the Elliston puffin colony. The coast looks beautiful with 9ts unique sea stacks and arch formations.
Please be mindful when driving though. It is unpaved and potholes are deep and span both directions in some points. The highlight of the park is the arch formation and that hosts an amazing view of the ocean, but sadly on our visit, it was raining hard and was a little foggy.

I don't think I'd drive all the way to Bonavista for this, but if you're in the area anyway, you should definitely stop here. It's beautiful. The town of Bonavista is worth visiting, and Dungeon Park is only a 5 minutes from the lighthouse..

This is between Cape Bonavista lighthouse and Spillars Cove. The views are quite spectacular and you can drive right to the “dungeon” . Be sure to visit Spillars Cove. I would visit the lighthouse, take the road through to the park and then continue on to the road that will take you to Spillars Cove. It is a short hike out to the views in the picture I posted but the views are jaw dropping

Camping is not permitted at Dungeon, but I believe you can camp at Elliston Municipal Park which is very close.

Is the park really closed on Sunday? Or is it just a visitor center that’s closed but park is still accessible? Thanks!

This area is always open. Drive through and view as it's self guided tours. Plus there is no parks closed in this area on Sundays. As a bonus Canada Day attractions are free at Ryan's Premises and Cape Bonavista Lighthouse and Mothbegger Plantation
Is there any way to get inside the "dungeon?" I'm a photography enthusiast and I'm planning a trip to Newfoundland for the stunning views. I'd really like to get a photo looking up from inside the "dungeon." I'd really like to know how feasible that is or if it's even allowed.

there is no access, and I am not sure this is permitted. if so, you will need some rock climbing gears and someone at top to help you.
