This hike is challenging in places, but well worth going. The views of the harbor, from the beach, and atop the cliffs are spectacular! There are several places that the trail is near the edge of the cliffs, so those with severe fears of heights...More

This is one of the most beautiful hikes we've ever been on. We lucked out on the weather and enjoyed every step of the trail. We found the trail to be very well planned. There are no really long sets of stairs - certainly nothing...More

The 5.3km hike is awesome. The views are spectacular, the trail is very well maintained with boardwalks, stairs, grass and gravel. Clockwise as other reviewers have mentioned is the best direction to go as the trail starts out flat before you start climbing and climbing...More

This is an awesome hike full of panoramic views and stunning vistas. I went in September and while it was a bit overcast, looking out at the sea stacks and out over the ocean was magical. There was absolutely no one else on the trail...More

This 5 km loop hike has incredible sea views displaying Newfoundland’s rugged coastline and examples of beautiful “rock columns”. The Skerwink Trail is well developed with sections of wooden platforms covering “boggy areas” on moderate terrain; and rock and wooden stairs with some steep sections....More

Long enough to be interesting, not so long you need special preparations. Varied terrain. Great sea views. We even saw a sunfish.

Rated moderate to difficult. Would not recommend for anyone with any disability or difficulty with steps (up or down) - lots of them on this trail - 5.3 km. Worth it if you are able.

The starting point is in port rexton and is clearly marked. It’s a 5.3km loop so you finish at the same point. Just follow the signage. You’ll see many cars parked on the sides of the roads and parking area for this trail.

Three hours is lots of time. We are a couple of oldies and we're back in 2 hours and 15 minutes. Took lots of time for views and watching whales. Lots of steps on the trail, not rock scrambling so no previous hiking... More

Hi, I am sorry to say but no you cannot drive to sections of this trail. This trail ventures off the roadways and follows the coastline around a headland.
