Words hardly describe the time we spent learning about the resettlement of Newfoundland communities from Captain Bruce. Both the sights and the stories contrast such beautiful landscapes and poignant hardships during these unsettling times in Canadian History. This was more than a boat tour, it was time spent in Canadian History with a family connection by Bruce himself. Make the... More

Finally, real Newfoundland experiences. As a Newfoundlander, I can assure you this guy is legit and his tours are breath-taking. Worth every penny. A real insight into Newfoundland history and heritage, unlike a lot of American/Europeans who have set up shop in Newfoundland, trying to mimic real NFLD culture.

Took a tour this morning and it was fantastic! The weather was gorgeous and Bruce is a living history book, educating us about the history of the area, including his ancestral home in British Harbor and the local cod fishery. We even got to catch a few cod the old fashioned way - by handline. This is a can't-miss trip... More

Probably the most authentic experience in the Trinity area. Bruce is an absolute legend and does an excellent job explaining the history and culture of the area. Bruce provides a locals perspective and shows his groups genuine Newfoundland hospitality. As a tourism industry professional, this was one of the best activities we did during our time on 'The Rock' Highly... More

We went on Bruce's boat tour on September 16th and it was wonderful. Bruce was full of great information and history of the area and the views were stunningly beautiful. Our stop at his cabin for tea and homemade preserves was a real treat. The weather was gorgeous which made this excursion a highlight of our trip to Newfoundland. Thank... More

A very educational and interesting day. The rugged beauty of the coast came to full splendour. Sightings of Bald Eagles and information of the cod industry filled the morning. We even witnessed the fishermen hauling in their days catch. Thanks Bruce for a wonderful day capped of by a visit to your cabin.

Put this on the top of any list you might have for the island. Bruce is a truly great local guide and story teller of the cod fishery and resettlement in rural Newfoundland. He tells it from the heart as it is of his own kin. This is a great expedition and experience filled with fun and heartache too. Do... More

In our first 15 day visit to Newfoundland, our best experience by far was Bruce Miller’s Rugged Beauty Boat Tour out of Old Bonaventure. The man is a natural and gifted story teller who effortlessly weaves together multiple complex layers to mesmerize his passengers for 3 hours. One sometimes even forgets to enjoy the beautiful scenery, the perfect backdrop and... More
