Two or three kilometres along a side road at the entrance to the town of Louisbourg is one of Canada's great remaining lighthouses. If you like taking photos, there is a chance to get shots of the rocky shores to the north, across the bay to the fortress, or of the lighthouse itself... and there is a great hiking path... More

Be sure to take time to visit the lighthouse as the setting is awesome and spectacular. We drove there from the fortress as it was raining but I think you can ge there with a longish walk from the fortress. The lighthouse is not open to the public

We drove out the road to the lighthouse, wondering if it was worth the drive. Whenever we arrived at the end, there was no question about it. It was worth the drive! The lighthouse was good to see, and the waves crashing onto the rocky coast was so mesmerizing. Loved the area. Wish we could have stayed longer.

A short drive from the town centre. The sunset was amazing. You can get up and close with this lighthouse. There are some red chairs on the hill where you can sit, relax and watch the tides.

Spectacular views from this lighthouse. Easy to get to. For those not wanting to subject themselves to the crowds at Peggy's Cove. Great moderate hiking trail along the coast as well.
