Very interesting place to visit. It is the base for the research into putting power generating turbines in the bay of fundy. There is some gravel roads to drive on but they are in good condition. It was interesting to learn about the tides and water movements in the bay of funday. The tour is self guided with some videos... More

This is an active research station with a self-guided visitor's center incorporated into the same space. Interactive kiosks show videos and provide information about the research, tidal science, and future possibilities of this technology in providing renewable energy. Really a fascinating story worthy of being told.

It is NOT in downtown Parrsboro as some websites imply. Instead it is about 6 miles southwest via Whitehall Road (follow the signs for Ottawa House and keep going past it). A small museum, with mostly text exhibits. A few small 5" or so models. The text exhibits contain numerous unattributed “stock” photos which apparently have nothing to do with... More

We arrived just before closing time, The staff lady ( sorry I forgot your name) was very kind and allowed us to have a peek at the Research Center. She gave us a lot of information. Once again the star of the show was the amazing views. Definitely worth spending some time here.

Very interesting displays and a nice view. We love science information and were excited to visit, we should have read between the lines of these reviews though. The displays are written signage and pictures, one video. No information I couldn't have found on Google in about 15 minutes. It wasn't worth driving out of our way down a dirt road... More

FORCE is a research site investigating the feasibility of using the tidal flow in the Bay of Fundy to drive turbines to generate electricity. The first turbine installed in 2009 was not able to withstand the force of the tides and failed within a few days. Research is now underway to select turbines that will work. Two turbines are scheduled... More

It's about 10km out of Parrsboro along a dirt road. Just follow the signs. Why the remote location? Well, that spot overlooks Black Rock and the FORCE tidal demonstration site. The little museum is nice but the view is great. If you're in the area, it's well worth a short visit. One thing you won't see are the transmission lines... More

Totally fascinating leaning about technology of the future. Very well informed staff. And a beautiful scenic view. And the road in wasn't that bad.

Very exciting research in a beautiful setting , only downfall is the drive to research center is full of ruts and pot holes , if you reach Henwood Hollow turn around , pave the road , great tourist potential.

You have to see this place because there lies the future of some completely new source of energy - the energy of underwater currents... It's fascinating to hear a story about how much energy is hidden underneath the water... and is just wasted... or not used.... If and when we start using it this will be a huge success!!! And...
